Installing Daemon Tools Lite
In this article I will be focusing on a popular piece of software in the tech world, installing Daemon Tools Lite. Daemon Tools Lite has gone through many of changes, from being 100% free to now having a pay version, and the free version being bundled with software offers.
A quick side note, I am not implying that Daemon Tools contains any sort of malware. I am using it in this example, because it was the first bundled software that came to mind.
I’m going to show you how to safely install this free software, without installing the ‘junkware’.
First and foremost, we goto Daemon Tools Downloads and look for Daemon Tools Lite, and click on ‘Download’.
On the Daemon Tools Lite download page, you will notice what looks to be three different download buttons.
Which One Do I Choose?!
In this case, you will notice the text ‘Advertisement’ over the two download links in the top right of the page. This is clearly a dead giveaway that these are not the correct links.
So let’s go ahead and choose the green download button at the bottom, and download the DTL installer.
Navigate to your download directory, usually ‘C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Downloads’, and run the installer
Well the ironic thing in this article. Daemon Tools finally changed their ways, and unbundled their ‘Lite’ software. Excellent choice. You are now able to install without hassle, using the default settings. Enjoy Daemon Tools Lite.
That being said, I will write about another piece of software. Only this time I will do my homework before blogging on the fly. :: facepalm ::
